The Centre for Transformative Innovation invites you to an virtual public seminar presented by Mark Sullivan, Founder and Managing Director of the world’s only not-for-profit biopharmaceutical company, Medicines Development for Global Health (MDGH).
MDGH was the first Australian company (and the first not-for-profit company worldwide) to achieve US FDA approval of a novel medicine, a new treatment for river blindness. They are now developing two drugs to treat 7 other neglected diseases that disproportionately affect people in low income countries. The company operates as a social enterprise, raising investment money to fund its work.
Mark will outline how prescription medicines and vaccines are developed, and how commerce and philanthropy go hand in hand with each other.
